minus 5 stars – This was easily the worst experience I’ve had with a wordpress plugin in 15 years. From the start it was asking for credit card details under the guise some some bs spam thing / verification – really so it can easily bill you later. Luckily I used a virtual one time card for verifacation.
I’m pretty experienced at installing plugins but from the get go it was already installing its own SEO plugin. I’ve already got SEO framework working great, set up the way I want it. Deleted their SEO plugin and hopefully I don’t think its affected my SEO framework settings.
I really just wanted a simple pop up and was getting the tables turned on me by the most aggresive plugin I’d encountered, felt more like dealing with a virus. Next it had its own Google analytics installed by forced default. Uninststalling this broke the permissions for the Official Google Site Kit that I already had and was happy with. I had to reset this and reconnect.
Needless to say I didn’t go any further, this plugin actually scared me, i wouldn’t be surprised if it would be stealing my data, deleted the one time virtual credit card and just started to read all the one star revies to know I made the right decision. I don’t even know why this plugin is alowed on the wordpress repository. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life with wordpress – shocking avaoid – Now I’m off to spend another 30 minutes making sure its not changed anything else and checking my Google account is secure.
